I was just wondering what your biggest strength and weakness is.
i think my 2 biggest strengths are reading people and being able to adapt to the table.
my two biggest weaknesses are not being able to slow down in a hand,(ive improved on this a little) and keeping my confidence up. today was a great example, i was up to 70+ in the 25nl on party today, i was playing really good poker. definitly my a game. then my 2 pair get sucked out by a strait on the river. im down to 40. after that..bam im started playing more passive scared poker....it wasnt tilt, it was fear. and i usually dont play scared poker but i was afraid to lose any more..... i wanted the nuts before i put my stack at risk. i was also playing alot more hand than i usually do and i was playing them weak. and after that i was dead. |

Been thinking quite a bit about my weaknesses, so I will talk about them
1. Patience. Pure and simple. I can get in a hurry to make something happen rather than sitting on my hands when I know I should. It's when I haven't seen any cards for 3 or four orbits, and I get some 'good looking junk' that I start to get in trouble.
2. The overbet. I get into trouble sometimes pushing too hard. I want to push someone to make a decision and in turn commit myself to a pot that I am looking at the second best hand. I don't do this very often, but I still consider it a big leak in my game.
Those are the biggies for me. |

I want to say, what a stupid question, but, is actually a great question, one should ask themselves often.
Patience. Actually a weakness for many, but a strength for me. Many times, more than I would like, I have gone thru 2-3-4 orbits early in tourneys with just limping the blinds hands. People even say to me, "are you playing or sitting out?". I'm folding rags, that is all. Being impatient is a poker killer.
Not taking things personally. You are playing a GAME with a huge doses of CHANCE. Deal with it, or don't play.
Desire/passion. I desire to get better at poker, and will seek any means possible. I analyze my play, and learn as much as possible. There is a steep learning curve, when you begin, and it flattens rather quickly. I choose, to accept, that my learning curve is fairly flat, with my skill level, and experience. But, I'll still work for those small incremental learning experiences, rather than expect I can't get better. Because, I can, and, am, will get better.
Have fun. Poker is fun, and profitable to me. But, keep it fun, or pursue things you find fun.
My only weakness, is, I'm the best poker player that ever played.... |

Strength (on line)--Imagination/Memory. Figuring out what the other guy has simply by going over betting patterns, following my instinct and acting on it.
Weakness--The "too cute" syndrome. Excessive slowplaying and trapping has cost me some big pots/tournaments. |

The weakness: Sometimes, rarely, I overestimate the help I get from a given card, and underestimate the help it gives my opponents. This is very critical position wise, btw. An example, and the hand from last night.
EP with AQs, though sooted won't matter. I made a good sized preflop bet, 2 callers. I was well established at this tbl, so I respect the calls, and I'm sure they respect me here. But, who cares... |
