OK I need some help with a debatable hand here because the guys I play with are on the fence about this lil problem... So here's the situation.... texas hold'em, the 5 community cards out are Q-Q-9-K-3...
in my pocket I have 5-9. the other player who stayed in with me had 9-10. suits don't matter, there's no straight or flush or anything, clearly, we just each had 2 pairs, Queens over 9s. BUT, to decide who wins the pot, the 5th card, can my combination be Q-Q-9-9-K, using the King from the community cards as my kicker, or must I use my 5 as my kicker, meaning my opponent uses his 10, which is higher and beats me? I say top 5 cards wins, meaning community cards as the kicker is just fine, tying the pot. Who knows for sure what to do in this situation? Any input or opinions would be appreciated. |

| It's a split pot. No doubt about it. |

"Object: The best possible five card poker hand, using any combination of hole cards and community cards, wins the pot."
You both get to include the king in your hands, the pot is split. |

| I agree with the others on this, but I'm curious to hear what brought the question about. |

| Absolutely split the pot 50-50. If there's an odd chip it goes to the first player clockwise from the button. |

| I think we really need a sticky topic on every forum for every state regarding the rules of split pots - that many bloody questions have been asked on the subject! |
